Mouth Simulator Type BO1032
The Mouth Simulator:
As consumers demand smaller devices that produce better
sound and need better microphones, you need to test your
microphones using more than a simple 1kHz tone. Sweep
tests require a good mouth simulator that can produce
a sweep with a known steady SPL.
The BaKo BO1032 Mouth Simulator is a specially designed coupler with a speaker inside. Outside the mouth opening is a mouth reference point (MRP), at which all microphones are placed. To use it, just place the mic in the custom designed jig, where it is held securely in place, and connect the BO1023 to a generator to produce a tone or sweep in the speaker. The inside of the mouth simulator is designed to minimize distortion so that with calibration, you can create a sweep with the same SPL for all frequencies at the MRP. And because a reliable SPL is produced, your data is absolute and comparable between mouth simulators or to data you obtain in an anechoic chamber.
